Retro, pixel and gaming CSS buttons
Retro buttons borrow from arcade machines, Windows 95, 80s synthwave and Y2K chrome. Pixel fonts, bevelled borders and hard shadows do most of the work, with no images needed.
Tips for retro & pixel CSS buttons
Pixel fonts like Press Start 2P need a larger size and extra letter spacing to stay readable. For a Win95 bevel, use light and dark inset shadows on opposite sides, and swap them on :active.
